The Fires Rage On: Emergency Planning Reminder

The fires outside of Los Angeles are still raging, and many people have been evacuated from their homes.  Just as the recent earthquake reminded up to keep our earthquake kits stocked with clean water and food, the fires remind us that we also need a “Grab and Go” emergency kit for times of evacuation.  Whether you make your own kit or buy one, make sure you keep it in a convenient location for easy access.

Here’s a rundown of related safety resources:

Hi guys
We’re running a video campaign on behalf of Timberland who are looking to appear on sites like yours,
and I’m enquiring if you would be interested in posting the clip, which is targeted at your readers.
The film is about a new boot made of recycled materials and a dangerous walk in the great outdoors.
You would be paid for the placement and so that your user’s know it’s commercial content, the video should be marked as ‘Sponsored’.
Alternatively we have options for sidebar and expandable clips for traditional advertising spaces.
Viewers would not leave your site when watching the film, and the clip would be embedded in a compatible video format.
We are looking at a live date very soon, please see the clip here:

Please let me know if you’re interested in this opportunity.
Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you soon
best regards

2 Fire Near the Getty Center this Morning — Outdoor Urbanite { 10.23.08 at 1:43 pm }

[...] Well, this is a little too close for comfort: apparently there was a brush fire early this morning near the Getty Center that closed the 405 for a few hours and burned 100 acres.  Luckily,  there weren’t any injuries or damage to property, and firefighters eventually put the fire out, but it is still scary that the fire was so close.   The fire hopefully will serve as a reminder that even people who live in the city need to be prepared for wild fire emergencies.
