Gas Pump
The gas prices around here are getting so absurd I have decided to start a regular feature of gas price reports. Yesterday I posted that the price of regular gas at the Chevron station across from my office was $3.99/gallon for regular unleaded. What I didn’t mention yesterday was that the station Shell next to my office had regular unleaded for $3.95/gallon. Both prices seemed ridiculous and I thought yesterday’s post would be a one-off, so I went for dramatic effect and talked about the higher price.

Little did I know that the gas fairies would cause some havoc last night, because this morning, as I was coming into work, I noticed the price of regular unleaded at the Chevron dropped to $3.97/gallon, while the price of regular at the Shell increased to $3.99/gallon. I can’t even begin to explain that. But all of their other gas prices were identical:

  • Plus: $4.09/gallon
  • Supreme/Premium: $4.19/gallon
  • Diesel: $4.69/gallon

None of those look good to me. I found a website called GasBuddy.com that helps people locate the cheapest gas in their area; however, all the “cheap gas” ($3.59/gallon) in my area is at least 10 miles away. :(

This is so depressing.
